My GTX 980, 6 core i7 and 16GB of RAM will just about handle medium settings at 1080p. Personally I'd recommend running the game on as low a resolution as you can stand. Oh, and all those lovely third person animations play out in first person and your character has a visible body - very immersive indeed!!
It also allows you to toggle on / off a free look mode - which is great of course.
There are other mods that do the same, my own included, but I personally find this particular one works best with VR. I think its set at 800 as default but I found 620 to be better.
I know that kind of takes away the whole "I am the character in the game" kind of feeling, but it is still hella-immersive and a lot of fun.įixing the hands are too large problem is fairly simple by using the 'Immersive First Person Mod v1.9', just set the FOV in each profile to 120, if your in game body looks too large / too small you can adjust to the 'Near Clipping' (its on the right hand side of the profiles menu, a fair way down). If you do get it working ok, I don't think there is a fix for the 'hands too big for the body' issue. I found I needed to set FOV 120 in game using the tilde key, regardless of what it says in vorpX. I can't really get Skyrim looking right in vorpX either, but I can come close.Īssuming you have hardware that will run it fine in VR, you just need to make sure you have that FOV set right. The part of the quote I am talking about is the bit about the opening sequence to Skyrim. That isn't the case, I think it is every bit as amazing as everybody makes it out to be. EDIT: I just realized that my comment here made it sound like I was suggesting the new vorpX isn't amazing. I've only seen one person say that and I follow this sub pretty closely lol :).
Shouldn't take more than a minute.Įveryone says "the new vorpx is amazing you should try the opening sequence to Skyrim" There a few more things you can tweak if you want to like the 3D Stregth (be aware that this changes the perceived scale) or the menu/HUD scale, but FOV and head tracking sensitivity are the two really important things you have to get right. If these two critereia are met, you are basically good to go. 120 is a value that usually works fine though.Īlso make sure to adjust the head tracking sensitivity (head tracking page of the vorpX ingame menu) until you get natural 1:1 tracking. Since the 100% perfect FOV isn't the same for everyone (depends on your eyesight, lenses, distance of your eyes to the screen etc., you can also experiment with values slightly lower or higher than 120.
Clicking it automatically opens the console, types in the command, and closes the console afterwards.
The latest vorpX also has a button for this on the main page of the vorpX ingame menu. keyboards, can differ on international keyboards). To open the console press the key above ( on U.S. Make sure to do this while you are in the game, not in the menu. You have to set the FOV using the game console in Skyrim by typing fov 120 into the console.
